“Volgograd Dialogue” was held at VolSU

The “Volgograd Dialogue” International Forum was held at the VolSU Center for Public Diplomacy. Prof. Dr. Dmitry Ilyin, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, addressed the guests on behalf of the Rector. During the meeting the speakers focused on new partners and challenges for Russia in the context of the transformation of the international system and discussed the possibilities of public diplomacy in modern conditions.

Ekaterina Arkhipova, Head of the Department of History and International Relations of VolSU, PhD in History, Associate Professor, co-organised and moderated the “Development of Transport Corridors in the Caspian and Black Sea Region” round table.

On the second day of the Forum, two round tables were held: “Modern Universities as Centres of Development of the Region and Countries” and “Youth Diplomacy in the XXI Century”. The event was moderated by Elena Parubochaya, PhD in History, Associate Professor, Director of the VolSU Center for Public Diplomacy.

Speakers from different countries presented their universities, talked about university development strategies, as well as the role of international exchange and international cooperation.

The youth section brought together speakers from among the young leaders who have applied to take part in the World Youth Festival in March 2024. The VolSU Center for Public Diplomacy carried out systematic work to promote the World Youth Festival through foreign partners. A group of candidates, who are opinion leaders in their countries, was formed to participate in the Festival. The meeting was held in a warm atmosphere, young leaders from Turkiye, Iran and Germany confirmed their desire to participate in the World Youth Festival.
