VolSU improves its position in the ranking of green universities

In 2023, Volgograd State University traditionally took part in the UI GreenMetric international ranking of sustainable development of universities, ranking 170th in the world and moving up 52 positions compared to 2022. This year, 1183 universities took part in the ranking, 48 of which are located in Russia.

Among Russian universities, VolSU was ranked 6th, demonstrating growth in such indicators as Education and Research, Setting & Infrastructure, Energy & Climate Change, Waste and Transport.

The UI GreenMetric ranking was launched by the University of Indonesia in 2010 to promote sustainability in higher education institutions. Universities are assessed on their performance in reducing their environmental footprint, implementing educational programmes related to sustainable development, and supporting relevant research.
