The mission of the festival is to observe a spiritual culture by preserving the memory and historical past, but most importantly, we do it to those who will inherit this memory - the youth, so the festival also concerns about our future. All years the festival was held in Sevastopol, but due to a number of objective reasons related to logistics, we moved it to the hero-city of Volgograd. Thus, for one day Volgograd became Stalingrad. I would like to thank VolSU that did everything to make our festival successful. I wish good luck to all participants of the festival, may the strongest win".

As part of the festival, two cooperation agreements were signed: the agreement between the Russian Historical Society and the Assembly of Eurasian Nations, as well as agreement between Volgograd State University and the Assembly of Eurasian Nations.

"The most important thing is that our festival is supported by the Russian Historical Society, to which we are grateful and grateful.

At the university we hold round tables, here is organized the work of creative platforms. VolSU took an active part in the business and creative program of the festival. Thanks to rector Alla Kalinina for that. Of course, the activity of the university in the vector of preserving the historical memory is impressive, it is interesting, important and necessary for the modern society".

In the course of communication at the business platform the Memorandum on creation of the International Association of descendants of the participants of the Battle of Stalingrad was signed, which aims at joint work on preservation of historical memory and involvement of descendants of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War in search and archival activities.

Secretary of State - Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Petr Kucherenko congratulated the participants of the panels in a video message on the opening of the XVII International Film Festival "Won together". He noted the relevance of the event on the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Battle of Stalingrad, stressed the importance of countering attempts to falsify history and the need to display reliable historical facts to young people.

"VolSU is a symbol and a monument to the feat of the cadet regiments who defended the second height of Stalingrad – Lysaya Gora (literal translation: Bald Mountain). Most recently, while planting trees, our students pulled out shell fragments from the ground, which were then given to the Cadet Regiment Museum. The first rector of VolSU, Maxim Zagorulko, went through both the Battle of Stalingrad and the Great Patriotic War and was the organizer of the search movement that did a lot of work to perpetuate the memory of the events of the heroic past. We cherish this memory," emphasized Rector of VolSU Alla Kalinina, speaking about the multifaceted work of VolSU students and scientists in the field of history.
