The “Russian-Jordanian Youth Dialogue” took place at VolSU
As part of the project "Volgograd Study Weeks", VolSU Center for Public Diplomacy held an online meeting with students of Jordan State University with the assistance of the "Russian World" Foundation in Amman and the Department of Russian Language at Jordan State University.
The event was opened by the Director of the Center for Public Diplomacy, Dr. Elena Parubochaya, and the Head of the Department of History and International Relations, Dr. Ekaterina Arkhipova. From the Jordanian side, the guests were welcomed by the Head of the “Russian World” Foundation Russian Centre in Amman, Dr. Tatiana Glushchenko.
Students of VolSU and Jordan State University made presentations about their countries and universities. The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, Russian students were able to talk to Jordanian students personally. This event laid the foundation for the Russian-Jordanian youth dialogue, which is implemented within the Eastern vector of scientific and educational cooperation of the Center for Public Diplomacy of Volgograd State University.
The Center for Public Diplomacy has been developing cooperation with Jordan since spring 2022. Speakers and experts from Jordan participated in the events of Center. In September 2022, Husam Al-Atoum, Associate Professor of Journalism at Petra University in Amman, participated in the “Youth Diplomacy in the Context of the Eastern Vector of Scientific and Educational Cooperation” roundtable. In October 2022, the “Public Diplomacy as a Sphere of Humanitarian Cooperation of Women in the Development of Inter-Country Partnership” round table was attended by the Head of the “Russian World” Foundation Russian Centre in Amman, Dr. Tatiana Glushchenko.
