On March 24, 2022, the Center for Public Diplomacy of VolSU organized a student debate on the topic of public diplomacy of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Korea. Bachelor students of the Department of History and International Relations participated in the event. Anna Prygunkova, an expert of the Center for Public Diplomacy, was the moderator of the event.
Elena Parubochaya, PhD in History, Associate Professor, Director of the Center, opened the debate. She emphasized the importance of bilateral dialogue between the countries and the special role of public diplomacy aimed at expanding the dialogue between the citizens of the country and foreign partners. Events in the field of public diplomacy involve active international exchange, creation of information programs and promotion of national culture.
At the beginning of the event, Anna Prygunkova delivered a report with the analysis of public diplomacy of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Korea. After the introductory theoretical part, the students participated in the debate, confirming or refuting the proposed statements.
The meeting involved an active discussion, which demonstrated the high level of students’ competence, as well as their developed analytical and communicative abilities.
