New study way for VolSU students
On September 1st, Volgograd State University will start a new academic year. In order to ensure a safe learning environment in the context of the spread of coronavirus infection, additional safety measures will be taken at the University.
For this reason, full-time students are going to study in two shifts. The first shift (from 8.30 a.m. to 3.10 p.m.) is for junior undergraduates (of 1st and 2nd year) as well as secondary vocational education students. Undergraduate and postgraduate students will study on the second shift (from 1.40 p.m. to 8.10 p.m.).
Classrooms and recreation areas will be aired every two hours. Physical education classes will be preferably held in the open air given weather conditions.
Students should wear their face masks in classrooms. It is recommended to change disposable masks every three hours and reusable ones in accordance with the instructions.
The student presence is only possible at practical or laboratory courses but large lectures will be held in a remote format. Classes for part-time and ‘evening’ students will also be online.
The University continues to take preventive measures such as territory disinfection, regular cleaning up as well as air disinfection in accordance with the recommendations of Rospotrebnadzor (Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) of Russia. At the entrance, the temperature is controlled and hands are treated with antiseptics.
It should be noted that there will be no annual solemn admission ceremony for freshmen on September 1st.However, the Student Council of VolSU is ready to tell students about university life in as much detail as possible. On September 1st, first-year students will have introductory classes and meetings with their professors at VolSU.
