New positions of VolSU in the Subject National Aggregate Ranking
Volgograd State University has significantly improved its positions in the Subject National Aggregate Ranking. The ranking is one of the most authoritative tools for evaluating the quality of Russian higher education. It is compiled by the Guild of Experts in Professional Education together with the National Foundation for Support of Innovations in Education. This ranking’s “aggregated” approach is unique: it is divided into subject areas and analyzes data from various recognized sources, including official statistics from the Russian Federation’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education, independent expert reviews, data on graduate employment, the university’s academic reputation, research activity and demand in the professional sphere.According to the 2025 Subject National Aggregate Ranking data from the independent portal best-edu.ru, VolSU demonstrates positive dynamics. In 2024, the university was represented in the first league only in 10 subject areas; in 2025, this number increased to 14. The programs in History and Archaeology are of particular note—once again, they entered the premier league.
